In Nevada, what seemed to be one of the most radical online poker bills ever conceived was shot down by the legislators. According to reports, the Nevada legislation wanted to create regulations to allow any online poker room to apply for a license, particularly those that would accept real money from US players. Unfortunately, that was negated by several amendments that not only killed this endeavor but forced the Gaming Commission to ask for clarification from the Department of Justice before any licenses are granted. The need to regulate online gambling in the US has been deferred until the next election. However, there is a good chance that the California legislators may still pass an online poker bill.
